My Role on this Project

Meijer’s reward program was due for an update

Utilizing skeuomorphic design patterns was a symptom of how long it had been since Meijer focused on it’s rewards program. Decoupling mPerks from coupons and the gamification of savings based on human behavior were goals of this project.

A workshop between business & design created alignment of goals, ideas, and problems to solve with wireframes as the deliverable.

User Journey Mapping

A comprehensive study of the current mPerks experience was conducted, documenting its problems and opportunities. This analysis led to the creation of a proposed future journey map for mPerks, aiming to align business objectives with improved user experience.

Refinements were discovered through user testing.

Several rounds of usability tests refined page layouts and interactions. The largest opportunity for improvement was content design & copy in how we communicated the benefits and value of mPerks.

Claiming a Reward
Animation & Experience

As the UX designer, I orchestrated the reward claiming experience, overseeing interface, interactions, and aesthetics. My favorite part involved collaborating with developers to synchronize diverse animations based on the API call sequence.

I led a close collaboration with iOS, Android, and web developers, ensuring a timely release of mPerks.
